Pamper yourself in this 4* Tudor inn; most rooms have a Four-Poster King Size Bed, Spa bath, Steam Room and a Massage Chair.

Step back more than 600 years into this splendid town-house, into a time when food was produced locally. It combines old world charm, oak beams and an open fires, with all of the amenities you would expect from a modern hotel.

All of our bedrooms are en-suite and furnished to a superior standard; ALL have four poster beds. We have recently refurbished the whole building, from top to bottom exposing two hidden fireplaces and loads of oak frames.

Our home goes back to the same period as Ty Nantclwyd House (below) which is only a hundred yards away. As the name suggest, The Royal Oak was once a tavern. The star rating in our website are provisionally as we have not yet opened!

Access

Take a break! (Excellent for short-breaks). We have one family room and one ground-floor room with excellent facilities for people with physical handicap. We do not have facilities for cats, dogs or smokers.

A full Welsh Breakfast... and plenty of it!!

We use free-range eggs and locally grown produce; we can also cater for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. However, we can not provide an evening meal but can book directly with nearby restaurants such as the Picture House, and Bar-W.

Where is Ruthin (or Rhuthun in Welsh)?

Ruthin is only two miles from the Loggerheards Country Park; between Llangollen and the coast. The following are within an hour's drive away: Llechwedd Slate Caverns (60 mins), Llyn Brenig (20 mins), Moel Famau Country Park (5 mins), Llanberis Slate Museum (55 mins), Penrhyn Castle and Snowdonia (60 mins), Rhyl Sun Centre (30 mins),  Bodnant Garden (30 mins), Conwy Castle (30 mins) and the Great Orme Tramway and railway at Llandudno (35 mins).
