We would like to welcome every person into The Royal Oak, however life is not that simple! We don't have the facilities to cater for children under 14 years old. Nor do we have facilities for dogs or cats.
But we do provide
In the Guest House:
Large Print Menus
A special en-suite bedroom downstairs with facilities for people with a physical disability
The ground floor is ideal for wheelchair access
A ground floor toilet near the dinning room.
Outside kennels for dogs. Please ask. We do not own cats or allow them in the house due to severe cat allergies in the family
A good mobile reception: including Orange and Vodaphone. A cordless telephone handset on the house phone line can be made available for guest use on request.
In the Bedrooms:
Instructions / welcome packs are all provided in large print format.
Kettles are cordless and all televisions are flat-screens with a zapper (hand controller)
The duvets and pillows are made of a synthetic filling, suitable for people with allergies
Each bedroom has a well stocked beverage tray, including a decanter of sherry. This can be removed before your arrival if you wish.
Table-lamps are touch sensitive.
In the Boutique:
As above. The Boutique is in two parts: the ground floor (with its own kitchen) and the first floor which has a bedroom and a lounge.
Both suites have direct access from the street, rather than through the hotel. there is a flight of stairs to the top suite, with two handrails.
Breakfast is either served in the main Guest House Dinning Room or in your own bedroom.
Breakfast
We can provide soya milk, decaffeinated coffee or tea or other alternatives such as peppermint tea and green tea. We can also supply vegetarian food (usually Linda McCartney's).
Outside
We have private car-parking towards the back of the Guest House, but the alley is VERY narrow. Wing mirrors should be closed. However, if you have a large car, there are two very large car parks within 50 meters from The Royal Oak. The outside is well lit.
